ECO-SYNTHETIC DREAMS

In response to Videocity’s theme Morphing Realities, Eco–Synthetic Dreams explores the convergence of ecological and technological realities within an era shaped by environmental instability and rapidly evolving digital systems.

Bringing together works by FENO, Imoni McCorvey, Joe Albin-Clark, Lily Plester and Victoria Ahrens, the exhibition presents speculative environments where the boundaries between nature and technology become unstable, porous and dreamlike.

Through experimental video, projected film, 3D animation, computational imaging and immersive installation, the project transforms the Dark Room into a hybrid ecosystem. Hidden mycorrhizal networks, biomimetic landscapes, digital mutations and post-industrial terrains appear as fragile worlds where organic and synthetic forms coexist.

The exhibition invites audiences to reflect on how our understanding of nature may evolve within worlds increasingly shaped by our own digital creations.
